Former players, members of the Blackhawks Foundation and invitees to the annual celebrity golf outing snapped up copies of The Breakaway, selling out hundreds of copies with a few minutes. Rocky Wirtz, whose story provides the narrative thru-line, signed copies, as did Hall of Fame player Tony Esposito, who wrote the forward to the book.
